Waylands Smithy at noon. I would like to dedicate this picture to my friend and contributor to this site, Wysefool who passed away recently after a short illness. He loved the Rudge and the Smithy in particular.

Nice... this and Moss's '06 shot probably sum up the place best for me.
Lovely photo, it always has a wow factor in autumn, it's a very striking long barrow, though 'restored' of course...

Oh my goodness! Just seen this and I'm not sure its been picked up by people. I remember Wysefool's contributions to this site. Am very sorry to hear this news.

Sad news, and so difficult to know what to say. A haiku by Kobayashi Issa (written on the death of his daughter) springs to mind. So, for Wysefool and lost stoneheads everywhere...

Shows how powerful the image is, didn't catch the dedication either.
Wysefool.... the name alone makes me chuckle whenever I come across his posts. Let alone the photo. Don't take yourself too seriously, have a laugh, yet know what you're talking about. Yeah, it fits what I've read, and is something for all of us to aspire to, methinks.
So sorry to hear of Wysefool's passing. Condolences to all affected.
