Natural basin in the granite inside the fort. Perhaps the floating roses are a Midsummer offering.

I'm inclined to think "natural" - without any prior knowledge of it - just because the hills are littered with similar examples around them there parts... Which doesn't diminish their existence or beauty in any way! The wind and rain can be pretty harsh out there! In my experience, anyhoo. :)
