A "Trash cache" is exactly that...

Some people place caches just for the sake of placing a cache. There is no creativity to it and I have seen several people post caches (Mostly in California) where they would take something as simple as a Yogurt container and toss a scrap piece of paper in it and call it a log book, then place it anywhere they cross... no planning, no creativity, just trash in the woods.

One fellow placed a cache and even posted about it saying he was hiking and while on the trail finished a soda he was drinking, he then dropped a pencil inside the bottle with a piece of paper and placed tape over the opening and tossed in in a bush, he then took a coordinate reading and submitted it as a Cache. This was approved by Geocaching.com as a legit cache. Navicache.com deleted the page as it was just trash.

Geocaching.com has a very large number of caches submitted and that is exactly what Jeremy likes to see, it's the number and not the quality. He talks about "Cache in and Trash out", but he doesn't even realize he is the main reason trash is getting into the parks and lands, there is no proper policing of the cache submissions.

Mr. Uhlmer mentioned this same thing (true creator of Geocaching) and for doing this in Jeremy's forum he was banned and membership deleted.
