If I could refer you to www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/planning. Page 25 of the comments "PRELIM CONCEPT MASTER" second from the bottom. If you open that page up, feature 21 is the barrow. There were also preliminary excavations undertaken by Guard Archaeology Glasgow just to the south of the circle where seven trenches were opened up. This report is available on the internet, I found it by Googling Guard Archaeology Twyfords. This report largley paraphrases McNeils 1982 report, but has added info such as some radiocarbon dates that have been taken.
