some 17 years ago I moved to rural (midlands) Ireland. At that time it was generally believed that Co.Longford was devoid of any archaeology of note.
Days and weeks of field walking and looking brought dozens of previously overlooked neolithic sites to light.
I wrote a small book for the protection of these stones/sites some of which might interest you.
