I know he paid the guy to stop but that could have been anywhere, in the village, in the pub, at the farmers house etc. is there solid evidence he actually visited the quoit though ? I guess he did or why pay to save it ?


It looks like he did visit .

In the Antiquities book he notes the measurements of the “supporters “ at “Senor “ enclosing the same area as Mulfra “viz six feet eight inches by four feet “

Interestingly in the “Observations book he notes “I find the number supporters in all the monuments of this kind to be no more than three “
