This is sad news for Wiltshire. I walked past in the hope of refreshment just last week - it was still open for business but had just finished serving. The new performing arts centre, built mainly of timber, next to the pub seemed be progressing e well. Hopefully the pub will be rescued as it is more than just another pub biting the dust - it is a focal point for the barge community along that stretch of the canal, a valuable resource to walkers of which there are many and a superb gathering place for summer festivals.
