Mr Power is far more knowledgable in these matters than you might think. For someone who has never met him, or visited the Comeraghs, your insight is indeed remarkable.

There is no need for me to have visited or met Mr Powers and no insight required . None of these have any impact on the likelihood or intentionality of the putative alignment , or the fact that moving an object 25m has little difference in regards of the azimuth at a distance of 2.5 km . You described the situation "has yet to be recognized, despite it being one of the most outstanding alignments in Ireland next to Newgrange. " I have tried to explain why it may not have been recognised , maybe others just say nothing realising that you tend tend to get flak if you explain these things .

This pic http://www.megalithomania.com/show/image/7278 is taken from 400m to the south of Carrickuppara , which is to the left in the image and about 40m higher , the site of the pic is actually closer to the standing stone in the col but I can't see anything .Is there a pic showing the standing stone visible from C. ?
