Did ye visit any other nice sites?

Our first week was taken up exclusively with photographing the Loughcrew cairns and their fantastic rock art in the republic. Second week we were based in NI and did 8 portal tombs, 6 court tombs, a passage grave, a wedge tomb, a stone circle, a souterrain and, unfortunately, a kitchen sink.

We were hoping to do a lot more but the weather was dreadful, we had rain most of the time and a lot of our photography is not possible in this. We actually spent more time on site waiting for the rain to ease off to a drizzle.

At one point we were on the top of Carnbane East as a violent lightning storm swept in, we ended up cowering in cairn T with the guides. Interesting how everyone goes very quiet when there is no discernable gap between the flash and the bang.

We also discovered that contrary to what we'd heard, passage graves leak like sieves..........
