I still remember the bitter disappointment when visiting for the first time after Stones (was that the name? I don't remember....) closed down.
Aye, the Stones (vegetarian) Restaurant. It was run by Mike Pitts and his then wife. After closing down in Avebury it reopened again in Marlborough, but that too seems to have gone. Their, The Stones Cookbook: Vegetarian Recipes from Stones Restaurant in Avebury is still available.
