You'll be very excited to learn that there is an online database of benchmarks and an activity known as "benchmarking". The OS equivalent of trainspotting, presumably.

I was one of those, as I'm sure you're aware! :) It was the first time I'd encountered a bench mark (2003! What can I say? I was a late starter) - learned soon after what it was. As, I'm sure, did other people here. :)

If this is trie about the stone being dragged away, then what the fuck's going on these days??? Sorry state of affairs...
