There is, or was, a bit by the gates into Castlerigg for donations - I noticed it Summer Solstice 2007, then I noticed it had been ripped open after the dawn. Shame that. Can't say if it's been repaired, the nettles are way too big to get in and check.

To be honest, NT are doing a great job of caring for Castlerigg, along with the many locals who go of their own free time and free will to clean up any litter left behind by visitors. Perhaps it's not as structured as committees and rota's, like you seem to have at sites in other areas, but we just get on with it.
