There was the debate around people having ceremonies in the chambers at west kennet- I suppose it depends on a number of things- but some circles were clearly used for burning rituals/ fires in the neo-lithic or bronze age so why not now?- the nine ladies probably wasnt as that was probably a cairn- setting a fire there seems a bit pointless- though a few candles and a bit of chanting never harmed anyone did it? You can please some of the people some of the time etc. Im just opposed to the idea that anyone feels they have any right over ancient sites and the activities that take place there.
