Wow thats a lot of information thank you; okay I'll take it off, though its the Wiltshire Heritage site mistake for leaving it on and not explaining properly ;)
What did strike me though about Conkwell stone circle, could it not be a kerbed barrow which are quite common around here, especially as it has stones in the middle? There were kerbed barrows up on Charmy Down behind Solsbury Hill, which is on the other side of the river Avon to Bathampton; they were excavated and then destroyed for a WW2 airfield.......
