whilst looking around a few callanish websites i noticed this...... 'VISITOR NUMBERS ARE NOW SUCH THAT A PATH HAS BEEN LAID AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE SITE BY HISTORIC SCOTLAND TO LESSEN THE DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE AVENUE AND CIRCLE' what does this mean? does it mean you are not allowed to go near the stones a la carnac and stonehenge? i'm hoping to go there in may ..... a hugely significant trip for me in many ways and i dread to think that it might not be possible to get anywhere near them..... do margaret and ron curtis still organise visits? even then it would be a serious bummer not to be able to have a solitary wander! hope this is not true! liss x
