| I reckon they could be ballast especially being near the quay posts. But who knows we could be on to something because they concentrated in a smallish area. The site could be Roman and is being exposed by the shifting gravel banks. Also, just along the coast a bit towards th SSC there is a petrified forest. I read somewhere this area was once all land and the river was never there.
