I know, I was excited when I saw that on a map when moving up there, not a bean is there? There's also a Standing Stones road a little distance away, where there were allegedly a pair of stones up until the last couple of hundred years ago.

AFAIK there is no reason for Stone Circle Road being named that: I once spoke to a county archaeologist whilst working at Rockingham Castle, and he wasn't aware of anything either: just a few henge-style monuments visible as crop marks in the county. Apparently there wasn't enough suitable stone close to the surface in this part of the world, for many (if any) stone circles to be built.

Northants is a nice enough place to live, tho I wouldn't swap it for Aberdeenshire! Many thanks again to wifey for getting a job at the uni!
