Poor old ravens locked up in case they might get birdflu; it is an extraordinary aspect of British life that we are still so superstitious, modern but still throwing salt over our shoulder or keeping our fingers crossed, - or making sure that a stone is returned hopefully to its original spot just in case London comes falling down (though the stockmarket has been falling recently, so maybe its casting an evil spell already about its move)..
