OK...
Like many I was horrified, disgusted and outraged by the Taliban's destruction of two standing Buddhas four years ago at Bamiam. Then I heard on the radio recently of the possible existence of a sleeping Buddha statue in the same area - a statue as long as the Eiffel Tower is tall. This sleeping Buddha may have been buried centuries ago against the threat of invading Muslim armies. Now what do you do there? Let the largest reclining statue ever created sleep on under the sand or bring it back for the hope of a ravaged world?
