It can be - but do yourself a favour and avoid the climb - walk across the Clifton Suspension Bridge from the Bristol side then take the first right, follow the road round and you'll come to a gateway into the woods. Take the path which leads up, not down the hill, and it'll take you pretty much straight to the camp.
