Modern Paganism started with Gerald Garndener and Aleister Crowley writing the Book of Shadows at the turn of the 20th Century. The book was loosely based on Crowleys Liber Al Vel legis (The Book of the Law)
Crowley then published the Golden Dawn rituals and Paganism went into a free for all with all sorts of Pagan books coming out.
How to be a Pagan in a week etc
There are several Old schools ie Alex Sanders and his Wife had a coven which he claimed was started by Gardener, Vivviane Crowley runs workshops from London and Kevin Carlyon claims to be King of the Witches.
I've never met 2 Pagans that believe the same things.
Nowadays all you have to do it say I'm a Pagan (or Druid) and you am one.
Personaly I don't believe in the Gods and I'm damn sure they don't believe in me either.
