I hear what you're saying, but "... an inaccessible large island, vaguely located in the Outer Ocean due to the cold weather and choppy sea..." doesn't sound like Britain to me. Britain isn't vaguely located, it's only 30 miles off France - you can even see it on a clear day. to be vaguely located in the Outer Ocean surely means something further afield, whether that's Iceland, Greenland or even the coast of Norway, who knows?

as for "interesting" societies, I suppose that depends on what the Greeks would find interesting, but there were Inuits from the Alaskan Saqqaq culture settling in Greenland from 2000 BCE onwards. the settlement of Iceland took place much later, with Irish monks thought to be the first during the 8th century CE, prior to the arrival of Vikings expelled from Norway in the 9th century CE
