Actually - not far from the truth in this respect! I think it's more wishful thinking than arrogance tho...There's a coupla stones in Southampton (yes! Southampton!) that I've got me eye on... The only slight bit of info I have is that they *were* boundary stones, but they look a little cruder than that to me... I know boundary stones are normally just that - stones - but I'll look into it. One of them is a supposed ex-cross base. It just doesn't look worked enough to me! Hmm. I <i>will</i> think about this, cos although it <i>does</i> look worked, it just doesn't look like a cross base...

I'd love 'em to be older, obviously, but as you say - there's little hope of ever knowing for sure... :(
