Eals! I remember your pic of Eals. I walked down there once from Lambley, but it was before I knew of the mound.

It makes sense that the valley would have earthen mounds and the higher land stone cairns. I'm thinking vaguely that the Tyne valley may have earthen versions of the long cairns up in the Debateable Land. Or something like them. Academically, the jury is out, though it does look as though it was convened at one point.

Keep your eyes peeled for flints at Amos Hill. Check the spoil from warrens and setts etc. etc.
