What about the pre-invasion cavalry armour found at Grinton far from the Roman lines. Taken to be "battle spoils" hideen by a Brigantian treasure horder after the Roman group had been killed in battle - this was Websters conclusion, kind of.
Though I have not begun to research the 70's, most of my work so far has been 50's-60's oriented and largely based on widespread surveys of the east of Brigantia.
I am fairly confident that the south eastern border of Brigantia in AD 60-70 was Sheffield - Doncaster - Humber and followed the major rivers.
