That's an excellent painting. If you're ever in the area, please, will you take a look at Sugarloaf Hill in Smithills ? It's the same idea but never sees crop circles. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3119 The Anglezarke crew have yet to spot it.
I guess you'll have heard of the artist that has worked with geneticists to GM alter the pattern of butterfly wings ? I'm watching one, named the Northern argus, become extinct where I summer work.
My pal, Fat Dudley, has an ancestor who specialised in seascapes. His nickname was 'Waterproof' and he would work almost entirely 'in the field'. The Newcastle art gallery has one of his canvases hung, hidden away, and it's just sea, nothing else, no boats or anything.
