I asked around for you while I was there, but no luck. Apparently, you're not the landlady or either of the lovely two women who come in first thing each morning to run the Hoover.

The Avebury stones were majestic, and the pub crowd was cheery. I expected more Druids, but if I can't have Druids I'll settle for bikers any day.

What is the story behind the Red Lion's maddening showers? Scalding hot for about 20 seconds, lukewarm for 5, then freezing for 30, then the whole cycle begins again!

Anyhow, the trip was smashing and I'll start my weblog soon to share fieldnotes and pertinent photos. Thanks for all you do to make a visit to Avebury even more rewarding.
