it is quite a dodgy map, hard to compare with the OS map if you have a look. There are so many sarsen stones in the general area... And there's more than one 'cromlech' on that map if you notice, to add to the general mystery.
If it's from the 1830s, and something was there then, then you'd think trusty old Stukeley would have had something to say about it previously?
