I think - without going Google - that that's called a Gnomon. The equivalent hill in the S Tyne Valley (it's a drumlin) from certain directions looks very much like an Egyptian pyramid - though one might expect to be ridiculed for suggesting it. It does hint at long distance trade routes and the similarity of belief.
