No, the maths is correct as its based upon my reasoning. What I find iffy is that you aren't especially shocked at possibly 175,000 finds a year disapearing into garden sheds, lofts, ebay, mantlepieces or god knows where.
Oh and the 175,000 could well be a lower estimate as thats assuming that Treasure Hunting magazine circulation is 100% of detectorists. Which it blatantly won't be.
