My above comment on prosopagnosia dosn't make any sense BTW. People with prosopagnosia have problems with face recognition. I was thinking of the 1947 report of a german dude who saw the raw facial recognition template rather than faces.

My point being, we have a built in face recognition template, (which looks remarkably like those old SCHWA t-shirts), which can go on the blink, and can presumably go hyperactive if we try too hard.
