| The article sited by Nigel stated that the stones had been "carved" into these shapes. If there is evidence of tool marks, this might suggest that the shapes are indeed intentional. Otherwise, it's just wishful thinking. Visit any natural limestone cave and you will be shown stalagmites of an "elephant" or a "madonna and child" by the guide.
