Yeah I definitely need to get a phone wi' caller ID. I can't ignore the calls as it is cos you never know, it could be little'un's school ringing or it could be to do with (my) work. And yes the call centres way out in Asia are particularly difficult to deal with. I find it harder to be rude to people ringing from the other side of the world for the reasons you stay, and also because if you stray from their 'script' some of the time they don't have a clue what you're saying. Why oh WHY would any organisation exploit people on the other side of the world to do such a shit job when, frankly, they can't really do that job in the first place? Oh yes that's why, I've answered my own question by including the word 'exploit' in it...

We've got a Dell computer, chuffed enough with it, and when they send you leaflets through, the images of the call centres on them all have 'Western looking' peeps but when you phone their helpline..it's based in India!
The only positive I can see is if it weren't for these jobs the alternative might be a sweat shop. But Dell who probably make a squillion a second, aren't doing it for that reason - dead cheap labour, and nothing else!
So I'm not giving Dell any points there, oh no. Or am I? Don't mean to...
