For whatever they're ever worth, there's a petition on the 10 Downing Street site to stop Thatcher having a state funeral, deadline 21 July

I've done a good deed for the day, I feel better now. Incidentally, what is the likelihood of her actually having a state funeral? Who decides? What is the reasoning behind her 'nomination'?

Here's a copy-and-paste of the message I sent to each of my Facebook friends along with that link. As far as I'm concerned, this is one that anybody is welcome to read - even the CIA. And bladup - I hope you don't mind me quoting your excellent post in the furtherance of such a worthy cause.

You know it makes sense.

Ding dong, let the witch's funeral be undertaken - pun intended - in the spirit of the ideology she esposued whilst alive. Put it up for tender on the private sector - the cheapest offered price gets the job. Or better still, throw the old battleaxe on a furnace and use her as cheap fuel."

We received a petition asking:

“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to not support a state funeral for Baroness Thatcher.”

Details of Petition:

“Baroness Margaret Hilda Thatcher is not deserving of a state funeral. To deem her worthy of such an honour is to overlook a host of awful things, like her support for General Augusto Pinochet, and to overlook many more deserving candidates.”

In the event of the death of any former Prime Minister, the Government is responsible for liaising with the family and representatives of the deceased about arrangements for a suitable service of remembrance, including any administrative support from the Government. After Anthony Gormley's "look at me" experiment featuring yet another generation of talentless egotists comes to it's weary end, I propose that the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square be devoted to a statue of Margaret Hilda Thatcher (nee Roberts).

The statue will be tall, proud, and sublime whilst it provides it's main usage - as a toilet for pigeons and a missile receptacle for those of us who had to live through the leadership of that unspeakable bitch.
