My Grandad was helped a great deal by these people, and no, he wasn't high up the ranks.
They do a fantastic job and help a great deal of people. I imagine that the reason they don't have enough cash to help all is the fact that many people don't by the poppy pins and that means there just isn't enough to go round. Although, that is a terrible shameful thing that happened to your family, buying a pin will, in a small way, help it to not happen to others.

sermon over!

My point is Pooley that there are hardly any dudes left from those times, and when they are gone, they're still pitching them for all wars - even the dead worthy Iraq one. I find that disgusting, and an insult to the likes of my dad and your grandpa. They're using the poppy in a totally inappropriate way. I find it a bit offensive.

I don't deny that they did good once, and my dad was helped too, like I said. But I'm speaking the truth when I say he was refused help (despite his 5 odd years as a POW), because the fund they said was for 'All soldiers in all conflicts'.

Worthy things do become bastardised, and this is a case example.
