Cosmic Dead - Scottish Space Race

I've had a few weeks to let this sink in. Verdict: incredible, one of TCD's best yet. The new drummer lights a fire under everyone's ass, propelling the band to new heights of cosmic speed-metal insanity: absolutely bonkers and beautiful, with four epic cuts of unrelenting energy and imagination. Highest recommendation.

Mugstar - Magnetic Seasons & Serra (Distant Sun I & II) Robert Hampson Remix

I just discovered these Liverpudlian cats, and this week shelled out for their entire digital discography on bc. Still in the digestive stages, but you could say I'm blown away. So far, Magnetic Seasons is the most visionary of the lot: Post-punk krautwind, like an instrumental supergroup of the Chameleons and Neu! The half-hour plus motorik journey of Serra is on constant rotation, reminding me of TD's Green Desert, and in its loooong final, ambient coda of ART's atmospheric masterwork, Hallensee.

Comacozer - Mydriasis

Terrific acid fried psych of the highest order from the land down under.

Peace.

Seeing Cosmic Dead in a couple of weeks - looking forward to it. Someone from this board burned me a few Mugstar albums. Might have to investigate more. Seeing as we had the first 2 bands in common I shall look into comacozer too!

Mugstar have made some great records - you're in for a treat!

I must admit I'm not that big a fan of the latest Cosmic Dead. All their previous output has been just totally brilliant, but I'm finding the new one just a bit...erm, shouty. I feel like that shouldn't be a downside, but I have found it a bit unsubtle and wearing. Great music though.
