Van Der Graaf Generator – The Aerosol Grey Machine. Soon to be reissued in 50th anniversary splendour. To say that Hammill and cohorts were only just out of their teens when they did this, it’s remarkably fully-formed in places (though a bit daft in others): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N91EyGMzvgc
Good to see someone else spinning this. Lots of plays here. Vastly overlooked. "Afterwards" being one of their all time best in my book. I feel if they never did anything else this would be a cult classic. Of course what they went on to do (particularly the first wave) as VDGG and playing on Hammill's solo albums are all timeless classics. Intrigued as to what the 50th anniversary has in store!
