Flowers of Romance (single and album) is a great period for PiL, despite the loss of Wobble. Yep, really enjoyed the Paris album this week.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of Album, although the packaging concept is superb. I quite like the last one though (This Is PiL).

God, forgot about This is PiL, yeah that and the EP are goodies too, love the One Drop single, and the spoken word piece ala Magazine (The Place I AM In I think it was called). Saw the tour supporting it, was a really good night out (as were the Metal Box gigs from a few years back too, esp Manchester).

As an 11 year old I'd not become aware of PiL yet (or even punk for that matter). I was deeply, deeply into the John Foxx Metamatic LP, Human League's Reproduction/ Dare/ Travelogue and Gary Numan's PLeasure Priciple and Telekon, along with The Normal's TVOD/Warm Leatherette. Ws lucky in having a pal who was a good few years older who used to get all the cool new electronic/synth pop LP's I couldn't afford to buy and tape them for me. Also had the seminal k-Tel album Modern Dance, which introduced me to Simple Minds, OMD, Japan and The Cure. Modern Dance http://www.discogs.com/Various-Modern-Dance/release/504872

Come 1982, I discovered Bauhaus and John Peel and it all went tits up from there.
