Regardless of whether you like NO or not, surely you can spot a NO record from miles away. They may have had their influences - but who hasn't? - but thy ended up with their own unmistakeable sound.

Fair enough I think it is probably 25 years of having them rammed down our throats by the music press that has done them in for me. That and the singing.

Hear a snippet of NO somewhere & it sounds great - like intro to Thieves Like Us accompanying Molly Ringwald butchering a dress in Pretty in Pink frinstance. But go home & dig the record out & it soon wears thin, usually when Bernard starts his singing.

Always liked power corruption & lies though.
