Pen-y-Raglan-Wynt

close

Has anyone ever been to the Pen-yRaglan-Wynt stone circle and tumulus overlooking the Nant Melyn valley in Carmarthenshire from the north. The Grid Ref is SN737494.

I've not yet been there but would love to visit it. It appears from the map to be situated in coniferous woodland some hundred yards from the nearest marked path.

I'd love to know more about it

The Landranger map only shows a tumulus at that location. The site hasn't been added to TMA, so I assume that no one here has been there.

No. Sorry, not been there.

http://www.geocities.com/ace_of_nitwits/Enigmas.html has some info on the stone circle, which along with a stone row constitutes the Cefn Gwernffrwd group (under which name they appear on the Portal).

Planning to go there later today or possibly tomorrow. I'll take my digital camera and post some images in due course.

Finally managed to make it up there.
I'll post the details in a few days
