The Swastika Stone

Vandalism

A'rite 4W's. Good to see that rumours of your virtual demise were exagerated!

The Swastika Stone is always getting hit... bloody shame really. The spikey railings may stop the majority of passers by from trampling all over it, but isn't hard to get around if you're determined.

The carvings near to Ilkley town are suffering badly of late. The place is full of bored kids with nothing to do. A few bonfire nights ago, we let off some fireworks down by the river and within minutes were surrounded by teenagers! The best way to save the carvings near the town would be to give under 18s a place to go as there's naff all for teenagers to do in Ilkley. It's all tea rooms and books shops.

What? Why, that sounds like the PERFECT environment for teenagers to be growing up in! Are the tea rooms like them there foreign coffee shops I've heard tell of?

Why would bored teenagers circle the stone in white paint? At least, that is to say, they don't sound like the kind of bored teenagers that usually hang round street corners smoking and drinking cans of white lightning. 'What shall we do tonight?' ' Oh I thought we might go up to that weird stone with this can of paint.'

So whoever it was drew round the stone / carving, not actually painted the design in (which you'd think'd be more tempting for a mere teenage vandal who happened to have some paint with them)?

Maybe they were doing a bit of health and safety, outlining it as a trip hazard. NO NO NO that's far too flippant. I'll get my coat. Let's go and lynch the culprit.
