'The Celtic Spiral'

Fourwinds, the upright stone , in the right hand cairn, has star carvings, have you talked about these?
on the porchway doors, on a lot of the norman churchs are very similer carvings.
When I ask anyone at the churchs, they think they are some form of sun dial, but I consider they were left by the masons, telling the angles of the lines, from the cross in the church yard.
they are hard to spot on the churchs, usually about four feet up on the right hand side, very weathered now, but I keep spotting them, you develop an eye, you all must be the same with your rock art.
