Hello Brian , no RA or anything else recorded in the area .There is a barrow (unexcavated) about a mile away to the east and that's it . The marked rocks stretch for about a mile and go over the watershed to the west . What is striking is that Dunnottar conglomerates are the basic geology and they are almost impossible to carve on being very tough , brittle and full of pebbles , but the area has a some intrusive sandstone and that's where the markings are . The loch is unsighted as is the barrow from all the sites . The rock is reminiscent of Galloway .

Are there more possibles in the area?..ie more of a similar rock type to look at?

I feel we might have hit upon an area of possibly more carvings at Park of Tongland, walking back from the recorded panel, found quite a few cups on exposed outcrops, but i feel there should be more that are still covered up, not just cups but rings etc.

This site seems to be getting bigger and better George..

nice stuff...

ps...(if you can ,say HELLO.. been trying to get Jan, got something to show you both).
