No, I never got the chance to get to it. I had it marked down as one of
the number of sites I had to do for a project, but when I saw that the
major problem was access I had to pass it over and concentrate on
other ones around clogher. I did find an elevated enclosure, that would
have had an excellent view of the surrounding landscape.Buried in a small
wooded area.
Its most notable feature is what's locally known as the Fairy Gate,
which I passed as local lore, but it is actually marked on the old survey
maps as "The fairy gate". A lovely stone entrance, that would'nt look out of place as an entrance to a small passage tomb I have all this info and pics buried in another part of the house,not easy to get at as I am doing a huge decorating over haul,but will try to root out at least the site number and copies of the maps. An interesting site by all accounts. Back to the painting then.
