Painted walls found Friday[http://www.orkneycommunities.co.uk/radioorkney.asp from 9 or 10 a.m. 27th July to approx 8 a.m. 28th July 2010] are apparently a first for Britain and possibly even northern Europe - unless someone here knows different ??

No, but it says that they used a mixture of iron ore mixed with animal fat, eggs or milk. Is there any ochre on the Scottish Isles Wideford?
