Enjoyed the programme and not a mention of the R+*&^% but isn't Francis Prior a bit too eager to make everything a ritual site! And as for saying I'm not sure why the rows are not all in line with the circle as well as the cairn, someone should take him to Merrivale or Drizzlecombe. They were also saying it is unusual as everything is in a valley there a other sites on Dartmoor which are in ,or near to, vallies. Scorhill Circle being one.

Ha! The comments on here are as interesting as the show itself! :-)

I'm going to have to watch again, as the kids kept talking through it...

It's on "my patch" so I thought I'd give it a go, but I actually turned it off.
There is no point trying to investigate something with an open mind, if the only chap you're going to let speak can't go three minutes without using the "r word".

So, if we're going to, here's my "r moment'

The Merrivale rows sit on a gentle massif between the hut circles and the standing stones and circles beneath King Tor. Viewed from open area at the summit of Great Mis Tor, the rows seem to parallel the horizon beyond Plymouth Sound. Perhaps stone rows are false horizons; mid-lines, crossing points, boundaries. And as they are often linked to flowing water; return paths, spiritual transport to the sea (and beyond). Perhaps they link those who lived here with those that made the journey.

Other than that... I don't have a clue. But at least I'm not saying i'm right.
No cod Xtian processes sent back in time to lay claim to a mindset. No fires or processions. No societical "hive mind". No big picture. No book deal.
