For the record, I personally don't think people should be told to desist from both questioning and doubting other people's assertions or theories merely because they get hurt/angry/abusive.

That way lies not a forum but a soapbox. If they ARE going to get hurt/angry/abusive about people questioning or doubting their assertions or theories they shouldn't post them on a forum but should put them on a website where they can monitor and control who says what about them.
