Well I'm glad to have got such a positive response. Some greats photos as always Meic. Your very lucky where you are based, some amazing stuff around west cork. My wife worked in Macroom for a while and I spent a few weekends down that area.
I've a bit of stuff to put up myself but its hard to get motivated when you seem to be posting stuff that no one will see.
It would be nice to get a bit more Irish debate going on here with maybe the possibility of a meet-up at some stage.

Hi Derek,

I look at some busy contributors here with jealousy as I don't have the time to go out as often as I used to. Was in Westport last weekend for a night and stopped in Rathcroghan for a short gander. Aside from that I get around to some of the local monuments in passing but wish and hope for better times to get out further afield. I still always check the Irish (and other) stuff here and contribute the occasional comment.

Keep well and please always mention any meet-ups planned. I may not be able to attend but would like the option.

Andy

I had a cracking holiday in Ireland last year and we are planning to go back again next year to follow the coastal roads south and west.
I certainly find the contributions/fieldnotes you make to be very useful - thanks both!

I'm going to make sure that I get my backlog of photographs and sites etc posted on here - a few every day. I've been guilty of using facebook a lot lately rather than here. I've got a page dedicated to the stones that I've been to over the years. (Walking to the stones - the stone circles of britain and Ireland), which will also hopefully encourage others to take a look around. It's important that we don't abandon TMA. There are so many great sites that people want to visit, when they visit Ireland and directions, ideas and tips are always welcome. I've relied on other peoples directions from here... so let's not get disheartened. Let's just carry on posting !
A meet up sounds like a great idea !!

There's so much Irish folklore about the stones too. So if I can drag myself out of my autumnalness I will look into that. It's pinning it down to the right place that I find difficult. But hopefully there are people here who might be able to help with that?

I reckon it's just that sort of stuff we should be posting.... pushing the boundaries of what people know.... just needs some people to go 'hey, that's near me. Why isn't so and so nearby on here, then?'
