I'm considering a jaunt to Ireland for a bit of megalith spotting. Can anyone recommend places that would serve as good bases for a visit? I'm looking for somewhere with a high concentration of sites - my main interest being those of a highly photogenic nature. I've done the Beara Peninsula a couple of times, so I'm looking for somewhere further north. Happy to travel about 50 miles in any direction from wherever I'm staying.

This map will give an idea of the sites I've already covered and the kinds of places that interest me:

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would go to County Sligo. Carrowmore and Carrowkeel are both there and need some time. Carrowkeel is one of the best places I have been to. You will have days and days of fun up there and there is plenty to see in neighbouring counties as well...

I'd go with that. Carrowkeel is arguably the essential Irish site of those I've been to. Knochnarea's not far behind either. Also leaves you options into Donegal.... some cracking tombs there.
