Now that the evenings are beginning to stretch out,

Any interest in something like this, this year?

Could be. Time is the problem, as always. It'd have to be somewhere I could get to and back in a day, possibly with my young lad in tow, or towing (whichever). If one of us is working the other is usually minding him. Sorry I can't be more definite Bawn.

I'm sure we can sort out something. There are two approaches:

Do we want to do tombs, circles or rock art? Deciding that'll give us a better idea of whereabouts we'd best be heading.

Alternatively, gjrk, which counties can you get to and back from in a day's drive?

Younguns ain't a problem either.

Hi all,

Have a bit more time to myself on the weekends now.

Anyone propose a day for a meet-up down Limerick way then?
I think a Sunday would suit best for me anyway.

Shall We Say 28th June?

or 5th July?

Bump!

We all still on for this?

Bumpity bump.

Did we make a decision on a time, date and place?

11.30am, Sunday 5th July, Grange / Lios (the main circle), Lough Gur?

Bring a compass!

Well I hope the lads that made it enjoyed the spin around Limerick / Tipp.

I tried to make sure it ticked all the boxes.

But seriously hope day out was ok, Id seen the sites before and the area really impressed me but of course it could be different for different people. It was nice to revisit them, especially Circle O & P.

I know this is stupidly early to ask but do you think there will be a megameet in Ireland in 2010?
And if so would it be around the same time of the year?

I am asking really as my youngest son and I would like to do a bit of a road trip next year and if there was a chance, it would be nice meet up with some of you guys enroute.

We would like to come over for about 2 weeks and spend a few days in different areas rather than rush around all over the place or be stuck in one.

This then leads me to my next question which is what would be the best four/five locations to base ourselves at to see the prize sites?

We will probably be going bed&breakfast and are looking for a quiet rural locations with good pubs (something that shouldn't be hard to do....apparently)

Thanks in advance

:o)

Scubi

Well the idea of a meet up seemed to have died in the water.

Would anyone be interested in a Winter Solstice meet up? Might be fun if people are up for it...it may be too close to Xmas for some.
